Hi, I’m Aamilah!

I believe that meaningful work happens when people are part of the process and not just the outcome.

As a service designer I am always looking for ways to make design truly functional. I’ve co-created alongside clients, organizations, and leaders to design services and learning outcomes that last. I take the time to understand what’s actually going on through user research, interviews, and feedback, so I can challenge conventional designs and make them better.

Born and raised in Toronto, a city that is shaped by diversity, I have always been immersed in dynamic ecosystems that are held together by varying lived experiences. This has fueled my commitment to inclusive thinking, adaptive design, and a rigorous, evidence-based approach, serving as a catalyst for building services that truly respond to people’s needs.

Most recently, I’ve led service design work on a civic engagement app for Elections Ontario, leveraging in-depth elector research to create accessible, user-first tools that are transforming how electors experience voting in Ontario. I also co-founded a youth mentorship program in the Thorncliffe Park neighbourhood, shaping it from early discovery through pilot with a focus on trust building, care, and equal opportunity.

I’m always looking for ways to make services not just functional, but meaningful. I build alongside people, not just for them, because I believe meaningful work happens when people are part of the process, and not solely the outcome. I’m always open to connecting with like-minded professionals and collaborating on projects that make a meaningful difference through thoughtful, user-centered design!
